Bridge Fabrication Welding Robot Solutions

Overview

Bridge fabrication demands repeatable, code-quality welds on large structural components. CBOXTEC bridge fabrication welding robot solutions help fabricators improve consistency on girders, trusses and connection plates while coping with skilled welder shortages and tight project schedules.

Typical Applications

  • Bridge girder segments and splice plates
  • Truss chords and diagonal members
  • Connection plates and gussets
  • Bearing stiffeners and cross frames
  • Pedestrian bridge railings and decks
Application Model Payload Reach Key Advantage
Large girder / truss segments CTC020-HJ2027 20 kg 2027 mm Long reach, heavy torch
Connection plates / splice plates CTC015-HJ1464 15 kg 1464.3 mm Multi-process, precise
Small brackets / fittings CTC006-HJ1460 6 kg 1460.7 mm Fast setup, economical

Why CBOXTEC

CBOXTEC has designed and manufactured collaborative welding robot arms since 2021 from a 4,000 m² factory in Foshan, China. Our systems are exported to 20+ countries, with application engineering for structural steel welding.

Key Features

Long Reach for Bridge Girders

CTC020-HJ2027 provides 2027 mm reach, covering large weldments and reducing the number of repositioning operations on girder segments.

Mobile Welding Cart

Move the robot along the bridge component instead of moving the workpiece. The cart integrates power source, feeder and gas supply.

Heavy Torch Capacity

20 kg payload supports large MIG/MAG torches, water-cooled configurations and multi-pass nozzles used in heavy bridge steel.

Hand-Guide Teaching

Program new joint geometries in minutes without a robot specialist, ideal for the high-mix nature of bridge sub-assemblies.

Frequently Asked Questions

The CTC020-HJ2027 is the best fit for most bridge components because of its 2027 mm reach and 20 kg payload. For smaller connection plates and splice plates, the CTC015-HJ1464 is a more compact option.

The CTC020-HJ2027 can reach approximately 2 meters from its base. For very long girders, the robot can be repositioned on a mobile cart or mounted on a linear track.

CBOXTEC arms can weld fillet joints, groove welds, butt welds and slot welds commonly found in bridge girders, trusses and connection plates.

Simple fillet welds on connection plates can be taught in 15–30 minutes using hand-guide teaching. Complex multi-pass groove welds on girders may take 1–2 hours.
